By default, when you enable online bookings, services are sorted alphanumerically by category, then by the name of each appointment type:
While you can manually change the appointment type name and/or category, at this time, there isn’t a way to create a custom order.
In order to manually change the order of appointment types we recommend:
Change order with appointment type category
When you add a category to an appointment type, it essentially creates a new group. If multiple appointment types have the same "Category" name within your settings, they'll be placed together in that category on your online bookings page.
With this set-up, patients select a category, such as "Telehealth" or "New patients," before choosing a specific service.
Categories are organized alphanumerically, however, if you want to manually organise the order, then one option is to include a number or letter in front of each Category.
For example:
or
To set this up, head to Settings, and then Appointment types:
Select the Appointment type you’d like to update:
Customise the Category by adding a number or letter in front of the name:
If you choose to include a number in your category name and you have more than 10 categories, make sure to use leading zeros for numbers 1 through 9. For instance, use '01,' '02,' and so on to ensure they display in the correct order.
Also, if some of your appointment types have categories but others are blank or missing category names, it'll be listed under the category "Other Services".
Once completed, make sure to save your changes and repeat this process for each appointment type you want to organise. The next time your patients visit your online booking page, they will now see the appointment types sorted with your updated category names:
Of course, if you wish to sort by the appointment type name, you can easily change the order as well.
Change order with appointment type name
While categories are an excellent method for organising your services, an alternative way to arrange your appointment types is by adding a number or letter in front of each Appointment type name.
For example:
or
To change the name, first head to Settings, and then Appointment types:
Select the Appointment type you’d like to update:
Update the Name by adding a number or letter in front:
Similar to categories, if you include a number in your appointment type name and you have more than 10 services, make sure to use leading zeros for numbers 1 through 9. For instance, use "01", "02", and so on to ensure they display in the correct order.
Make sure to save your changes and repeat this process for each appointment type you want to organise.
Now, when your patients visit your online booking page, they will see the appointment types sorted according to your updated names:
Now you're all set 🎉!
