Show appointment duration on invoices

Automatically include the appointment start time and duration on your invoices.

Want your invoices to show exactly when an appointment started and how long it ran for? This is handy for confirming service delivery, supporting time-based billing, or simply giving patients (and their health funds) clearer detail on what they're being charged for.

Instead of adding this manually, you can set it up once and it'll apply automatically going forward.


Enable appointment duration on invoices

To show appointment start time and duration on your invoices:

  1. An administrator or power receptionist can go to Settings → Finances → Invoices:

  2. Tick "Include appointment duration on invoice" under Invoice customisations.

  3. Click Save invoice settings at the bottom of the page.


How this appears on invoices

Once enabled, the appointment's start time and duration will appear on the invoice PDF:

Some things to keep in mind:

  • This setting applies to all invoices, including past and future ones. You'll see this the next time you print or email an invoice.

  • Start time and duration only appear on the PDF or printed version of the invoice. You won't see this when creating or viewing the invoice in Cliniko.
