If you use the Stripe payment integration and notice your patients aren't seeing Apple Pay or Google Pay as a payment option at checkout, there are a few things that could be causing it. Work through the steps below to find what applies to you.
Before getting started, keep in mind that the patient will need to have a card saved in Apple Pay or Google Pay on their device for either option to appear at checkout.
Check that Apple and Google Pay are enabled in Stripe
First things first, it's worth checking that these options are enabled in your Stripe settings. They're on by default but you can log in to Stripe and go to Settings → Payment methods to confirm that both are toggled on. For more info, see the online payments overview.
If you've embedded online bookings on your website
For Apple Pay and Google Pay to appear in an embedded booking form, two things need to be in place:
Your domain must be registered with Stripe: Stripe requires this before certain payment methods, including Apple and Google Pay, will display in an embedded checkout form.
In your Stripe settings, click on Payments, then Add a new domain. Paste your website's address into the text field and then click Save. You'll see a message at the bottom of the screen saying "Domain successfully added and verified". After you refresh the page, you'll see the domain listed.

Your Cliniko embed code must be up to date: After registering your domain, you'll need to replace the existing embed code on your website with the latest version from Cliniko.
To get the updated code, go to Settings → Appointments → Online bookings and copy the code listed under Code to embed in your website.

Check whether your website is built with Wix or Squarespace
If you've embedded your online bookings into a Wix or Squarespace website, Apple Pay will not appear as a payment option. Unfortunately, this is a limitation of how Wix and Squarespace load embedded content. Google Pay is not affected and will still appear.
If offering Apple Pay is important to you, the best alternative is to link patients directly to your Cliniko-hosted online bookings page, rather than embedding it on your site.
To find your online bookings page address, go to Settings → Appointments → Online bookings. You can then add this URL to a "Book now" button on your website. Patients who click through will be taken directly to your Cliniko bookings page, where all available payment options, including Apple Pay, will work as expected.
Check whether your country is supported
Apple Pay and Google Pay availability depends on the country your Stripe account is based in. If you've worked through the steps above and neither option is appearing, check Stripe's Apple Pay or Google Pay documentation or contact Stripe support directly to confirm whether your country is supported.
