Although no practitioner information is sent to Xero with invoices, you are able to set a Xero sales account for each practitioner within Cliniko. You'll first need to set up your extra sales accounts, then using the instructions below, you can have Cliniko push the invoice products and billable items from that practitioner's invoices to the Xero account you set.
Note that this will not override any specific Xero sales account settings you have set for those items, but will override the default Xero account setting.
You will still require a default Xero sales account to be set in the integration settings in Cliniko, or your invoices will not sync to Xero. The specific account settings shown below will override the set default Xero sales account.
Taxable items and non-taxable items can be pushed to the same account in Xero, but make sure you have specified a Default Xero tax rate for tax exempt revenue in your integration settings at Settings → Our clinic → Integrations.
Head to Settings → Our clinic → Users & practitioners, click on the relevant practitioner's name, then click the button to Edit their practitioner settings. Select the appropriate Xero account code in the drop-down menu:
Hit the Update practitioner button!
From now on, all new invoices and invoices not yet synced to Xero will send those line items to the set account for that practitioner, except for any invoice items that have their own specific Xero account set.
Having the right set up for your sales and payment accounts is critical to getting the Xero reporting you need, making reconciliation straightforward, and having an accurate Business Activity Statement in Xero. Please contact your accountant if you need any specific advice about your business, but let us know if you need any help with the setup.
We are easiest reached from within Cliniko by clicking Help on the blue sidebar, and clicking Chat with us.
