While you have the option to print documents from Cliniko, you can also save them as PDFs and store them on your computer, or email them to someone. Saving something as a PDF is handy if you don't have access to a printer, or might just want a digital "hard copy" of something that can be kept on your computer!
Let's say that you want to save a particular report as a PDF. It's a little confusing because there's a "Print" button in the upper-right corner, but not a "Save as PDF" button:
However—you can still save something as a PDF! You'll just need to hit the "Print" button, and the next steps will occur from your browser's "print preview".
The following instructions will vary for different browsers, and while we'll do our best to keep this guide updated, we can't guarantee that the images and examples below will match the version of the browser you're using. They're meant to serve as a reference, but might not be exactly the same as what you'll see. We'll use reports for our example, but the general instructions will apply to anything you are trying to print from Cliniko.
We'll share examples of how to save something as a PDF from the following browsers:
All of these examples were performed on a Mac, but the method for saving as a PDF on a PC will be almost identical!

Download and save something as a PDF in Google Chrome
On the report you want to print, hit the "Print" button:
This will open up a "print preview" window that looks something like this:
Next to where it says Destination, make sure to select Save as PDF. From there, hit the "Save" button. You'll see another field show up that asks you what you want to call it and where you want to save it:
After making your selection and pressing "Save", the report will be saved to your computer as a PDF, and you can do whatever you need with it at that point!
Download and save something as a PDF in Safari
On the report you want to print, hit the "Print" button:
This will open up a "print preview" window that looks something like this:
At the bottom, where it says "PDF", select the drop-down menu and select "Save as PDF":
That will then prompt you to select what you want to call it, and where you want to save it:
After choosing those preferences and hitting "Save", the report will be saved to your computer as a PDF, and you can do whatever you need with it at that point!
