Some developers have created applications which can integrate with Cliniko, giving users even more options and functions! In order to turn on these integrations though, you first need to give an application access to your Cliniko account. We use an "API key" to grant this access.

⚠️ WARNING!

Giving someone your API key gives them access to your Cliniko data. Only share your API key with trusted software vendors.

Generating an API key

Click on My info under your name:

Under API keys, click Manage API keys:

You'll want to be sure that "Allow yourself to create and use API keys" is toggled to Yes. Otherwise, you will not be able to create an API key!

You'll now be brought to the API Keys Page. From here, click Add an API Key:

You can then add a unique name for your API Key. We recommend adding the name of the application you're generating the API Key for:

Once you click Create API Key, you'll now see a long string of letters and numbers—this is your API key! Copy it now, as it won't be shown again:

This is what you would provide in the API key field for any other application you're integrating your Cliniko account with

Again, make sure to copy and paste your API key BEFORE clicking Done as you will not get another chance to copy your API Key.

In the future, if you want to disable access to a particular software application, you can delete this API key by clicking the Archive button!

As mentioned, your API key will be what you provide to other software programs if you're integrating your Cliniko account with them!
